Craniosacral Therapy

“Blending is about melting and dissolving boundaries. Love is about blending.” Dr. John Upledger, DO OMM

Developed by Dr. John Upledger, CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch manual therapy that addresses restrictions in the craniosacral system—the membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and the spinal cord. This vital system extends from the bones of skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum and the tailbone area.

Since the craniosacral system directly impacts the central nervous system, any imbalance could cause many types of sensory, motor, or neurological and emotional disabilities. Craniosacral Therapy helps correct those restrictions allowing the body to release the effects of stress and trauma.

Like TTouch, Craniosacral Therapy can restore a balance between the fight/flight responses and the rest/digest responses of the nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy is a wonderful way to maintain optimal health and performance in people and in all animals.

With Craniosacral Therapy, Sally can bring benefits to animals or people with the following conditions:

  • head injuries/head trauma
  • emotional challenges
  • behavior issues
  • lameness
  • jaw dysfunction
  • chronic pain
  • spine injuries
  • recovery from EPM, Lyme disease and other systemic disorders
  • arthritis
  • recovery from trauma or injury
  • recovery from surgery
  • enhanced quality of life for seniors

In a Craniosacral Therapy session, Sally will do a comprehensive evaluation of you or your animal to identify underlying causes of imbalance that result in pain, discomfort, impaired performance, or a decrease in vitality and optimal health.  In a session, Craniosacral Therapy draws on the body’s innate power to engage self-healing mechanisms and restore wellness–emotional, physical and spiritual balance.

As developer of the animal curriculum for Craniosacral Therapy for the Upledger Institute, Sally is a frequently sought expert speaker, educator, and instructor. As a national leader in small animal Craniosacral Therapy, she brings over twenty years of experience in Craniosacral Therapy to her work with animals and people.
